Barb Callie

Barbara Callie has been an integral part of helping manage and promote Anthony’s piano service business for over 25 years.  When they ran a piano sales and rental business in southern California, she added the skill of doing finish touch-up on their inventory of used pianos to improve the cosmetic value.  The various trainings that she has taken over the years have included those taught by Mohawk, Star, Konig, Bronte Group, Steinway, Allied Piano, and Allied International.  She has several seasoned mentors all over the country in the specialized field of repairing traditional lacquer finishes and the newer polyester and polyurethane finishes.  She is a founding member of TUBS, a southeastern-based consortium of finish touch-up specialists. 

Barb has done a great deal of the touch-up work for piano dealers in the Triangle who have entrusted into her care the repair of fine, high-quality instruments such as Steinway, Bosendorfer, Mason & Hamlin, Fazioli, Schimmel, Kawai, Boston, Yamaha, and Young Chang to name a few.    

Barb’s many years of working with color in fabric as a quilter has given her a good eye for color that she is able to bring to bear in finish touch-up.  This in addition to her attention to detail, good eye-hand coordination, and years of experience gives Barb a high level of expertise in her touch-up work. 

If your piano gets damaged or scratched, Barb will be happy to be of service in helping make those “annoyances” go away.  If it gets a myriad of surface scratches and you would like it’s appearance to be more like it was when it was new, she can give it a general rub out if it is lacquer or buffing out if it is polyester to bring the luster and sheen back to original.
